Introducing The 2017 Port Angeles Lefties

Lefties Sign Pitcher Garry Hill and All-Star Ian Nowak

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—February 28, 2017—Port Angeles, WA—As snow covers our baseline to spring, the Lefties wrap up the first Youth Camps of the season and announce their newest acquisitions: outfielder and pitcher Garry Hill and utility player Ian Nowak. It’s the first time on the Peninsula for both young men, who will be playing college ball this spring in the Sunbelt and Big West Conferences, respectively. Check out their snapshots below.

GARRY HILL

Hill joins the Lefties from Arkansas State University, where he plays outfield and pitches for Coach Tommy Raffo. This 5’9”, 200 lb right-hander is originally from Monticello, AR, and looks forward to exploring the northwest. A Psychology major, Hill is the first in his family to play baseball. As a junior at Star City High School, Hill’s athleticism landed him a spot on a CBS sports highlight reel for a “miracle catch” made in a playoff game. Follow him on Instagram: G_hill2.

IAN NOWAK

Nowak comes to the Lefties from UC Riverside, where he plays third and first base for Highlander Coach Troy Percival. This 6’3”, 201 lb Winchester, CA native bats and throws right. Expected to be a utility player for the Lefties, Nowak covers first, third, outfield and pitcher. In high school, he was named to the Southwestern All-Star Team for baseball and played football.
