Lefties Sign Pitchers, Wolf Cameron Walker and Ute Spencer Johnson

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—March 14, 2017—Port Angeles, WA—As Civic Field dries from the frequent March showers, the Port Angeles Lefties sign two more pitchers to help fill those seats this summer: native Washingtonian Cameron Walker and California boy Spencer Johnson. Check out their snapshots below, and be sure to support your favorite Lefties in their collegiate conferences as spring ball continues.

CAMERON WALKER

Walker joins the Lefties from Western Oregon University, where he pitches and plays first base for Coach Kellen Walker in the Great Northwest Atlantic Conference. A native of Nachez, WA, this 6’6”, 220 lb, switch-hitting right-hander was named a 2016 1st Team Utility, All-Academic All-Star for the East Region. Walker attended Nachez Valley High School, and was named Most Outstanding Player of the 2015 Senior Babe Ruth World Series, where he threw a complete game shutout in the final, and the River Dogs claimed their first national crown since 1998.

SPENCER JOHNSON

Johnson comes to the Lefties from the University of Utah, where he pitches for Coach Mike Crawford in the Pac-12 Conference. This hard-throwing right-hander from Walnut Creek, CA is a 6’5”, 210 lb physical player who was named to the second-team All-Diablo Valley League as a senior at Northgate High School. In 2013, Johnson also appeared in the Area Code Games and was named a Contra Costa Times Star of the Week after throwing a shutout in a 2-0 win over the defending league champion. Johnson’s father, Craig, was an All-Pac-10 player at UCLA (1977-78) and was a second-round draft pick by the Detroit Tigers in 1978. Follow Spencer on Twitter @SJohnson_6 or Snapchat: sj_6.
